Why are you in the finance industry?
I moved from the country over to ‘the big city’ and got a job working at a financial planning company. I didn’t really know what to expect at first, but it turns out that I found my feet quite quickly and have been in the industry ever since. I find it challenging in a good way. The feeling of helping people with their finances is very rewarding. I have grown up with finances not always being at the forefront of conversations so this was all new to me. I had no idea this is where I would end up, but I am very happy that I have.
What do you do outside of work?
My biggest hobby is sport by far. Growing up I played netball, tennis, basketball, swimming, and anything else that came around. Since moving to Adelaide I have kept playing a little basketball but my favourite is netball. If I’m not playing sport I dare say I would be watching it.
Other than sport I enjoy getting in the kitchen and baking, I find it relaxing. I think delicious food can pick someone up from a bad day, celebrate someone or is for any occasion, it just makes people happy.
What do you enjoy about working at Heard Financial?
Wonderful people to work with, they all have a great long-term view for their clients and high priority to keep their clients happy. They are on top of all things finance, and their knowledge is fantastic. I think moving forward I will enjoy this company very much.
