Get to know Luke Matthews, General Manager at Heard Financial.

Why are you in the finance industry?

I’ve always had a head for numbers and love managing my own finances which include a personal portfolio of shares and property as well as our own Self Managed Super Fund.
I fell into the financial services industry in 2018 and instantly felt like I was where I belonged. Financial Services is a dynamic and fast-paced environment which satisfies my thirst for knowledge and personal growth.

What do you do outside of work?

I love going out to restaurants, wineries and cool new places. I play golf and go to the gym several times a week to keep myself in shape (so I can do more of the previous activities). I have travelled internationally to Europe and have plans to do more of the same in the next few years. I plan to retire early and live a life of pleasure travelling, playing golf and ticking experiences off my bucket list.

What do you enjoy about working at Heard Financial?

I really enjoy the challenge of aggressively growing the business. Executing a growth strategy is what gets me out of bed in the morning and I get immense pleasure out of working with a great team to achieve our ambitious growth plans. The team here is awesome and make coming to work every day a fun-filled and exciting experience.
